dddave
Following the advice of many on this and other boards, I downloaded AD-AWARE. I was under the impression that it was free since the website says: "FREE DOWNLOAD" after completing the download, I let it scan my computer where it pinpointed 101 items. When I tried to proceed with the clean-up, the program then demanded I register with a payment of $29.95 Now, I understand that this is a really useful program, and probably worth the money, but their promotion methods, leading one to believe it is free when it most definatly is not, makes me suspicious of their overall ethics. I feel deceived and reluctant to register and pay. If you are an AD-AWARE user, what do you think of this? David
Straycat
You didn't download the free version. That's all. Much can be said about that sort of marketing(*), but it's a reality on Internet. (*) the free version is almost never the most prominent link on a website
