The serial numbers are all known -- and it's not like you see NI pounds in the rest of the world. No matter how many years it is from now, those bills will be recognised as soon as someone tries to pass them. Only chance is to use a bill now and then in a dimly lit Belfast club -- presuming there are any -- and even then it would have to be one of the lower denomination bills. sayjann Posted December 26, 2004 Report Share Posted December 26, 2004 there must have been a motive behind the robbery. the Men were very likely to be professional criminals and i would have thought they would have asked all sorts of questions and thought about how to get rid of the money. they must have had some plan to dispose of it and still gain in a monetary way,even if they only got 25% of the value. would be strange in my eyes if they went to all that planning and then just thought that they could go on a spending spree without arousing suspicion.....
