In Bangkok. some buildings are not built very good. Some are built terribly. I built a house once and built the foundation on bedrock. An earthquake occurred and I felt nothing. It did not even awaken the dog. A friend of mine built his house and floated the foundation in the sand. When the earthquake hit, his house rocked like a ship in a storm. One of our Phuket members will post as soon as he can (Racha), but basically 3 friends of mine have all confirmed that Phuket was hit hard by the waves, major disaster (their words)! lopburi3 Posted December 26, 2004 Report Share Posted December 26, 2004 This was started by what seems to be the largest earthquake in 40 years and there have been 10 more so far; with the last at 7.2 so also a very major quake. Guest Posted December 26, 2004 Report Share Posted December 26, 2004 Thai TV at 1:30 PM claims there may be as many as 100 falangs dead. If this is true, it might be difficult sorting out who is who.
