Earthquake and Tsunami Situation in The Western Coast of Thailand

Department of Diaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM), Ministry of Interior woould like to report the further information on Earthquake and Tsunami Situation in the Western Coast of Thailand are as follow:

 

1. Minister of iInterior ordered to set up the Provencial Call Center for search and rescue of victims at 6 Provential Offices for 24 hours.

 

2. Hotline numbers of the Call Centers are as follows:

Phang Nga hotline : 0-7641-1525, 0-7641-1179

Krabi hotline : 0-7561-1302, 0-7562-4161-3

Trang hotline : 0-7521-4382

3. People who need to donate money or live goods can contact Provisional Coordinating Center as per above hotline number. In Bangkok, please donate at the Department of Diaster Prevention and Mitigation, 3/12 U-Thong Nok Road, Dusit, Bangkok 10300. Tel 0-2241-7495-6 or hotline : 1784.

 

4. The total number of victims at 2130 of 26 December 2004 are 279 deaths and 3,325 injuries as follows :

Phuket -- 86 deaths -- 699 injuries

Krabi -- 36 deaths -- 344 injuries

Phang Nga -- 88 deaths -- 1,902 injuries

Sathun -- 7 deaths -- 250 injuries

Ranong -- 57 deaths -- 88 injuries

Trang -- 5 deaths -- 42 injuries

Coordinating Center for Foreign Nationals affected by Tidal Waves

 

According to Tidal Waves which hits some provinces in the Southern part of Thailand on 26 December 2004, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand and the Ministry of Interior sets up the Coordinating Center for Foreign Nationals affected by Tidal Waves today (26 December 2004).
