gobbledonk
I spent my youth on Maroubra beach and managed to get badly burnt many times Ah, Maroubra. I remember the first time I paddled out in the early 80's, tales of the hideous localism the break was famous for ringing in my brain. Through good luck or whatever, I didnt have a problem - if only the same were true of my excursions to places like the Coogee Bay and Bondi Lifesaver. Hard to believe that Bondi is the same suburb we knew in the 80's, but Maroubra was even more 'basic' back then : I'm sure that it has changed a lot since then. I guess its rose-coloured glasses, but I'd love to be able to jump in a time machine and go back - a lot of Sydney is a nightmare, but the beach suburbs are fantastic. Or at least they were. Cheap at twice the price
Zorro
I used to surf at Maroubra in the seventies and early eighties but lived in Coogee. As you are probably aware there is precious little surf in Coogee. I still have a place in Coogee where i am curently staying but this suburb has changed out of sight over the last twenty years. BelgianBoy
1 more comment from the doc (well... she had to promote herself ) that the skin is the most important organ of the body, and the one the most abused as well...... People pierce it, tattoo it, burn it, cut it, and basically do not care at all except for some soap and water. BB
