The point I was trying to make in response to Flashermac is that if the girls waited it out for a village guy with 10K baht it would be a long wait with not enough of those guys to go around. Certainly the village girls are using their freewill to marry a local boy, the vast majority of village girls do that but for those that want a mate with more serious baht a farang is a better, maybe only option.
