It copies the entire drive you specify, even including the empty space. Except (for space saving) it leaves out the page file of an operating system, which is ok because the page file is not necessary for a copy. In other words, if you have the operating system on the drive that's being copied, then when DI copies that drive it is copying the entire OS (and whatever else is on that drive), including the registry.
