Dude_Le_Rude
Hi, the problem is that thais need visa also for tourist trips! Yeah, I kind of figured that. Even that, I am sure is a major hassle for Thai people. and with the yen getting a little stronger than the Thai Baht, life will be even more expensive... TheLastEuropean
Hey KS, JPY 800k~1m per month is way too much for someone on loan. FYI - The former company I worked for allowed USD 100 as a per diem for those on temp assignments in Tokyo. If the guys are smart, that should be more than enough for food and entertainment. Also just to let you know, there is something of a crackdown going on and remind them (if they do not have a gaijin card) to keep their passport with them at all times. I am not sure if a copy is fine or not. And like one of the gents mentioned above, Thais need a visa to get into Japan. Good luck and I hope the guys will enjoy Tokyo. torrenova
Whilst I'll defer to current residents of Tokyo to advise on costs (its a few years since I lived in Tokyo now), I don't think you can discount the need for relaxation and socialising. I was an expat for years and one of the initial things you do to relieve the boredom is to go out. Expense always covered this and Japan is not cheap.
