ALHOLK
Like all Swedish children I got the vacciine in fifties. The protection is suposed to be life long, and like all diseases it depends on your general health condition. TBC which was virtuelly stamped out when I was young is now on the rise due to immigration here.
lembeh
Hi Stick Hmm. The information I have been reading seem to say that the old BCG jab was not *that* effective (only worked in 50 - 80% of cases), and may only have lasted up to 10 years, BUT, the info is pretty contradictory and variable, so only best guesses. I can't seem off hand to find a*definitive* article. However this might interest you, as it is a history and fact/figures of the various immunization programs and strategies in New Zealand : http://www.moh.govt.nz/moh.nsf/238fd5fb4fd051844c256669006aed57/cd6d0d4fec9c15d2cc256b960078ea34 -j-
