are more formal or correct terms

I thought 'hom' was a reference to a male appendage or is there some subtle tonal difference I'm missing in the phonetics. I am aware of its usage as 'onion' too.

Not sure what the fuss is about asking for a coke, either:

Mii Coke dai mai khrap? or

Yaak duum Coke k-

seems to work for me. At least they don't usually dump it on my head.

That should be "haam", but I think it's only Isaan slang. Correct me anyone if I'm wrong.

The other day I overheard an elderly lady (I use the word very generously) saying "buea haam"; you could interpret this as "I'm bored with dicks" or "I've had too much dick" (i.e. in my life, recently, or whatever).

If you want (to have) something physical you use "ow", as in "ow nam som" or "I want orange juice".

You use "yaak" if it preceeds a verb, as in "yaak pai talat" or "I want to go to the market."
