Guest
But don't the tirs have to be stronger for international standards than for domestic? I have heard people tell me they watched a Garuda flight in Indonesia come in from abroad and get it's tires changed to crappier-looking ones for the onward domestic hop on the spot. Redbaron
Maybe... I know Aus standard were amongst the highest in the world, and if a plane wasn't "airworthy" we wouldn't let it take off again until it was, no matter where they were from. With Garuda, it's possible the Indo standards weren't as strict as ours, the old man never has a good word to say about them, and used to rib my mum for flying them to Bali all the time. Quote from my father: "In the cockpit (Garuda flight to Denpasar), there's a man and a monkey... the monkey's in charge. The man has a piece of paper to remind him, it says - feed the monkey." Mum never had a problem with them, and regularly flew to Bali with Garuda.
