FAT_AUSSIE
Hi Guys, I am looking for a good bookstore in BKK. any recommendations. Learning to read Thai so some learning guides are what I'm looking for mainly, along with a good range and someone who stocks Christopher Moore... Cheers, Damo
Nervous_Dog
Most places have Christopher Moore, or you can order on line! The book store in Emproium is good, Asia Books are all over the place, but my favourite is the 2nd hand one, about 200 metres towards shit lom from emporium, exit emporium, turn right, walk about 200 meters. Very good
..
Kinokunia in Emporium is awesome. As is the Asia Books branch on Suk at Soi 15 or so -- four floors of books. I think Doggy is referring to the The Desa Book Cafe. It *is* a cool place. Cheers, SD PS -- Asia Books online shows that they have the Chris Moore books for which you are looking...Kinokunia does not seem to stock any CG Moore. Dude_Le_Rude
just out of curiosity, I heard that there was a lending library of sorts run by a farang, somewhere around soi 20 or 22. I heard this about 1-2 years ago, and I never bothered to look into it at the time. I heard the deal was, you pay about 100-150 baht membership fee, then you could borrow X number of books per month/week. anybody know? Thanks! by the way, the other used bookshop, near soi 33 is pretty extensive, however expensive.

liquidflux
Sorry to hijack the thread, but has anyone been to the HUGE bookstore that's in the mall at the base of the petronas towers in KL? That was by far the biggest bookstore I have ever seen in my life. It's on 3 or 4 levels. I think it may have been a Kinokunia, but can't remember. Khun_Kong
There is now a book RENTAL (!) shop at 1 of the BTS stations. However, Oldzteimers disease has set in- can't remember which station.
