Stickman !..You ask for it...

good thai girl,

careful when quoting me, there'll more than a few posters who will already not like you for being nice to me. it's not really a everybody-loves-fly-situation out on the boards... smile.gif" border="0

tyler durden,

that was one of the most patronising posts i have ever read. i believe you are one of these people who automatically start speaking s l o w whenever they encounter a non-native english speaker, even though the non-native speaker they are talking might have a much higher level of english than themselves.

i wonder what joseph conrad would have said about that post of yours.

While in the past I defended Good Thai Girl's right to post etc... and still do, I grow from apprehensive to pessimistic regarding the veracity of GTG's authenticity.

GTG expressed several times of her interest to join folks at Woodstock.

FYI: I sent a private message Sunday (?) offering to escort her to Woodstock after meeting at a more convenient location. Response received Tuesday, "Could you please tell me who you are and what you look like? Thanks again. I really appreciate the offer."

No affirmative just questions about who I am and what I look like.

I sent a rather off-putting reply asking if her reply was a yes or a no and a request for clarification else "stop wasting my time."

Welp, my thoughts are not to waste much more time on this issue.

this might be slightly out of topic, but you gave interesting information on unicode : I get thai characters correctly on this board (with my netscape browser) but when I cut and paste the text to Word (french 97) I only get squares.

How to make Word understand unicode ?

By the way, in Word, with alt-128 I don't get the euro sign ?!

I too am suprised that stickman , who is supposed to be administrating in KS' absense , has not even bother to clarify the issue of whether this is a 1 language or dual language board??? It is not in the FAQ or speil on the front page, that I can find . Even if he does not feel there has been any flaming , he should clarify issues such as this .

My own thoughts are that he is noting down whats happening , & will give a report to KS who will decide on appropriate action .

Either that or he is in a bar somewhere , lost since boxing day , or similiar!!

If any body is still interested:

Language

The language on this board is English, and posts in other languages are not allowed. The reasons for this are that we are sharing information, and people could easily be left out because they can't understand the language it is written in. Furthermore, moderating something you can't understand is impossibly, so I err on the safe side and delete the post

This is from the home page at the left side if you click on the board FAQ for beginners. Which is not the same page you get if you click on the faq link at the top of the page.

I know the subject of whether a thai female poster is genuine or not is dragging on but, I just remembered I have met one thai woman, and had correspondence with another, who where doing post grad study on the subject of Farang men and thai women and particularly

attitudes of farang/western men to thai women. Im sure there are probably a few thai women (especially those who have studied in the west)who have an interest in this subject. If this board is not by know I am sure it will become study material for these people.

I note the previous posters comment on language. I believe that posting in thai should be allowed, possibly with the proviso that translations be supplied

Agree with Daeng on this, I think Thai should be allowed as long as there is an accurate translation...

The issue would be how does someone know it is an accurate translation when they can't read Thai??

Sanukboot.

I thought Khun Sanuk didn't allow languages other than English on the board. Thai must be an exception. :-)

p.s. The messages in Thai are pretty bland. Actually, the whole thread is sort of aimed at Sticky. Everyone else just joined in.
