Looks like the previous post covered just about everything. I to bring little gifts for the girls… Chocolates (Chocolate covered Macadamia nuts, etc.), other food goodies from Hawaii, and feminine cut T-shirts from here as well. For one girl I’ve known for a while, I normally bring a Hard Rock shirt from where ever I’ve traveled to… Not the regular type T-shirt but the black V-neck “chick” type. Just about everything I’ve brought was met with a lot of Wai’s and thanks, always well received The Macadamia nuts were a little different, took a few of the girls a while to warm up to the taste. So far no big jewelry request or purchases, all except for a small Hawaii pendant for a long time “friend”. Oh yeah and no fragrances yet, though on the next trip I intend to bring something along those lines.

Thanks for the advice...If I can find some of the touristy American junk Khun Sanuk suggested I will get it. I don't really live in a tourist town and I don't want to pay airport prices, but I have some ideas where to look.

Here's what I have done so far.

I was at the Silver Legacy Casino/Hotel in Reno for a few days and took all the soaps, lotions, and shower caps. They are nice and well packaged.

I was in Costco yesterday and bought one gf designer label shorts and a top and another designer shorts. The interesting thing is that I paid $12 to $15 and the labels say $39 or some such nonsense. I have to leave the labels on to authenticate the products and I am SURE the girls will love the prices.

Ha! Sorry about that. I'll tell them.

I had the same problem, to solve it I got the one thing that Bangkok doesn't have, quality american stuff. Two trips ago a Coach Wallet, last trip a Coach purse. Both from the facoty outlets over in Camarillo, not cheap gifts but when the wife can see this stuff of the Coach website it sort of adds bonus points to the thought.

Read on another thread that perfume was not a good idea as recipient may take this to mean she does not smell good. What we have done (fellow sanuker and I) is gotten a business accquantance to bag us up 50 bars of Hawaiian handmade soap in coconut, plumaria, etc. As many showers as these girls take, we figure will be a welcome gift. As stated elsewhere, anything that girls can't get in Thailand is precious to them. Will let you know how well received when we get back (9/15/01). cool.gif" border="0

I suspect the real problem with perfume is that it's so personal - what one girl will like another will loathe. You shouldn't have the same problem with scented soap. If there really was an implied slight with perfume though, wouldn't the implication of soap be that she smells really bad because she doesn't wash enough??? I'm arriving in a fortnight (only for four days, boo hoo) and I e-mailed a girl I'll meet to ask what she'd like - didn't take her long to ask for Christian Dior perfume! So maybe if you know who you're going to bring gifts for, perfume is good, otherwise, chocolate, soaps etc. I've also found the girls seem to like teddy bears - I once brought a few over from the English Teddy Bear Company & there were squeals of delight.

Duro - I had totally forgotten about teddy bears and that kind of stuff. The bargirls who have taken me to their apartments all had that stuff all over the place.

Good call.

High Thaied? Love the name!

I have noticed that many girls (that don't have much money )tend to look through clothing and shoes catalogues. Why don't you see if a department store will issue you with a voucher written out to a specific value. Every girl would love that, I'm sure of it. Lets face it every woman in the world loves to shop, and some like to look beautiful. A voucher would win points. laugh.gif" border="0
