Guest Posted October 21, 2001 Report Share Posted October 21, 2001 Jeff: I agree that using friend is probably more convient than finding or using a longer explaination for the person they are refering to. but about family words, ( from my limited experience in los). I can think of many times I was told someone was brother or sister ( when they were using english, but were not really family, but very seldom heard someone refered to "lek sow or pee shai" when the person being talked about or introduced was not really family. ( but most of what I do hear probably wold be classed as "bar talk") "I disagree that the use of the family words 'sister' and 'brother' is something seen mostly in the bargirl scene.
