Please do not insult us the super power of HOCKEY by calling it "ice hockey" It is hockey plain and simple, you can add "field" or "grass" to the other east indian sports with a stick.

And there is no need to even discuss it as we already have the parade route planned here. it will just be a carry over from the world juniors as Canada steam rolls over the world.

Even though I still expect Canada to make it to the Gold medal game, it looks like your steamroller has a flat tire.

from the 'torino' site:

"Ice hockey now really comes into play. The days of qualifications have been archived, the quarter finals starts today with a programme full of stars!

As has already been seen and demonstrated the favourites on the ice in the semi finals are Slovakia, Finland, Russia and Sweden. There could also be some surprises considering that from today until the finals on Sunday eight matches will be played with clean eliminations.

So pay full attention to Canada and the Czech Republic, great favourites before the start but disappointing in the first five qualifying matches. It is unthinkable to believe that the North Americans and the Czechs are already waving the white flag of surrender without having shown their real technical value."

Yes everyone knew that team canada was not up to it. A bunch of old guys who are friends with the coach who have not played together as a team. More like Saturday afternoon pickup hockey on the river than a great olympic team. Ever since they made the rule that the NHL players could play has been a disaster. The rule was brought into play to expand more into the US and try and get a spot light on the game. But it is shit for teamwork.
