steffi Posted March 16, 2006 Author Report Share Posted March 16, 2006 Well the shop next to the legitimate shop in MBK on the 3rd floor has it but they want 900 baht for 12 episodes and they've got 2 episodes per DVD. Not exactly sure why since the original usually has 4 episodes per DVD. So I didn't bother despite it being demonstrably good quality recording. As far as I was aware, season 5 is not released until September this year... Season 5 is not even on the television yet, let alone dvd? For instance Fox is now screening Season 5 of 24 and you can get this in Thailand but it's recorded from TV (no commercials) but it's expensive. So they are about half way thru the season already so you only have 12 episodes available. Btw: You might enjoy Prison Break and they start showing season 2 on TV next week. No luck though. and spent a good hour asking around.... not even a sniff. tried floor 2, 3 and 4.... must have asked all vendors, to no avail. On the upside, my porn collection has just increased ten-fold :: BTW, great value CD's at Pentip Plaza, IMO. One Indian fella knocks out CD's, of each artists entire back catalogue, for just 100B each. For 300B (3CD's) I have about 50 hours worth of music from The Who, Oasis and a 'Brit Pop' comp. You have to go to MBK floor 3 at the store next to the video store that's constantly playing Tom Yum Gung .. It's the one where they use to sell video tapes and you use to have to pick them up the next day. They also sell fitness DVDs there. Anyway, 100 thb is standard price for all Music CDs... That's all I ever pay. But it's good you've found a back catalog vendor. Where's this guy located? They also have the sister of the girl who has the legimate store at the bottom of the stairs at Siam Square BTS operating on the second floor at Panthip. I'll try again tommorow. Usualy a music cd is just one album, but this guy sells ALL the albums of any band on one cd, for 100B. I think that's bliding value. But it wasn't clear from your last post that you were talking about an MP3 CD per se. Just sounded like the guy had stock of the artists catalog. That's pretty impressive if they have the right Artist I guess. I'm guess the bit rate is 128 which wouldn't please a lot of audiophiles. Yeah when you to MBK you'll see the store that's always playing Tom Yum Goong and then the one next do that that has all the DVDs on display is the one. They have 12 episodes of 24 Season 5 but IMHO they charge too much. Try Prison Break you'll like it. This was the show that had 24's timeslot in 24's off season and it also became a big hit and now they screen the two shows back to back every Monday in the states. Guest Posted March 22, 2006 Report Share Posted March 22, 2006 Here in the states, 24 season 5 is currently in production and being screened on TV on Mondays evening for one hour. 24 season 5 began in January and yes, perhaps 12 episodes have been already shown on air (there were several two hour specials in the beginning of the 5th season for 24). Again, the DVD for season 5 wouldn't be available in the states until November, 2006. But of course, it is possible to get copies off TVs as it is done in Thailand.
