I suspect this was typical of the shack towns thrown up for the GIs. I saw the GI strip south of Udorn in '73. It looked to be about a mile long and on both sides of the highway! Got a couple of awards from veterans' groups for it. Unfortunately, it's down now. He had it on WebTV and when he left them they dropped the site.
