ALHOLK
Hi! Basically I agree with you so only a few comments. - more laid back atmosphere in general Absolutely. - more fun Again I agree but would add that I have had a lot of fun in BKK too. - less mercenary attitude from the ladies (and less pushy) Maybe slightly but this is changing in Pataya as well. - less japanese than in some places in BKK Again probably true but there many places in BKK where you will never see any Japanese and there are places in Pattaya where you aren't even alowed to enter because you are not Japanese. - cheaper Absolutely, in Pattaya one gets more bang for the buck (pun intended). regards ALHOLK
whosyourdaddy
Pattaya Bangkok, same same. One difference really... Bangkok Death by pollution and tuk tuk Pattaya Death by mafia and slippery balconies above the 3rd floor. LOL
drogon
As I said above, I am fond of BKK (and khon kaen) but being quite honnest i have to say pattaya offers more. (from the punting perspective) From a nightlife point of view I tend to hang out in suk soi 33 or in G clubs etc.....and in the last 2 years I tend to have more long term relations so it would be difficult for me to stay in pattaya
cagedsoidog
Bangkok or Pattaya? For one 1 and 1/2 days? I'd go to Chiang Mai. Then Hua Hin. Take the train. It's a nice ride.
drogon
Yes maybe but the OP stated that he was not looking for cultural things (although one could argue that the nightlife is also a cultural aspect of Thaïland......) but just wanted to get laid. So pattaya is the best and fastest way to reach this result. I like hua hin too but as a seaside resort for a few days.

Old Hippie
Next time I'm in town, for sure! Never played golf! I did win some lessons and a 18 hole game for 2 at Pebble beach club (supposed to be a good place). Took the lessons, (2, gave the rest away), gave the golf round to 2 friends, who still talk about it all, and enjoyed the day anyway...golf was very painful, bending, twisting, all that...Muay Thai Boxing is so much easier! None the less, when in Thailand, I will try to "get a hole in one" or should I say, "get in one's hole?"
