bust
I have a rather serious situation to try and sought out for someone. I need to know if there is a free legal system in place for non residents.Tried Law Society but have not been able to get any response. If any one wants to PM me I am in BKK till Friday. Alternatively just point me in the right direction. Please keep in mind my Thai is pretty well zero when dealing with officials.
Bangkoktraveler
Some of my friends and myself have had to have legal advice in Thailand. What we found is it is not cheap. Especially when everything has to be translated. I never found any free legal advice in Thailand. Sorry. I know some Thais who use a court appointed attorney but even they had to pay. I would say when you do not know much Thai, you are a setting duck. Which I could help. Maybe somebody else can provide some encouragement. It would be great if legal help could be provided at a reasonable price. Can you provide more info in the nature of the problem?
Central Scrutinizer
Have you asked your friend's or your embassy? They might be able to provide some legal advice/help, or at least might be able to point you in the right direction. Cent
Flashermac
A Brit friend went to some free legal counsel on the Victory Monument traffic circle. I'll try to come up with the name of it. p.s. I think it was free. If it wasn't, it was dirt cheap.
