whcouncill
Which one do you like better? What the diff between the 2? Which one is rougher? Thanks for any insight.
MooNoi
Both pretty rough... I prefer Australian Rules Football to be honest. You usually get harder hits in rugby league, but the rugby union boys still manage to bash the crap out of each other at times in tackles etc. Rucks and mauls are definitely not a place for the faint-hearted in rugby union. Still, I've never understood a game (league and union) where you have to throw the ball behind you in order to get where you going! Also, scrums in rugby league are a joke. Many people have their own preference for one reason or another. The call rugby union "the game they play in heaven". I guess it's a pity you gotta wait until you're dead to get a game! Torneyboy
League..faster and more skill involved than grunt and push of union....like to watch tests in union however.
Nervous_Dog
LEAGUE!!! MoiNoi comments very accurate, rucks can be very dnageous, nothing like getting tagged on the side of the head. Scrums in Union also very dangerous, in League, a joke. League a more interesting game. Union almost looks like Aussie Rules some times! Barry
League by a million miles... Yes, the scrums aren't competitive, but that's one of the rule changes to keep the game moving (how often does it collapse or need to re-form?). It's the class system in the various countries that union is played in that has kept it popular and kept League out of the public eye. Fortunately Australia was the exception. I played union, but was never game to play League. Never tough enough for that game.

Barry
Doesn't happen often but he got hammered by David Kidwell in game 1 v NZ. Then mouthed off about it being a cheap shot!
