Topcatta
Hi, is it still possible to get a visa extension for the third month on Koh Samui? Which other immi branches do this? Or do you *have* to go out the country?
cardinalblue
You are not very specific, but if you are saying can one get a 30 day extension on a tourist visa within thailand, the answer is yes.. I got one in CM today.... CB
Topcatta
Ahh great! Yes that is what I mean. Any other places that do that in LoS? Koh Samui used to do that before the new visa regulations.
cardinalblue
We had a thai immigration officer come and speak to our group in CM recently. What happened innitially after those reg kicked-in, one change was retracted after they realized their mistake and no impact on who they were targeting (those scum (just kidding) 30 day border runners who are, well were now, trying to stay out of the loop). And that was the 30 day extension of tourist visas was revoked. Well, it was a mistake and immigration are issueing them again on the 60 day tourist visa... It shouldn't make a difference where ever you are in thailand. Of course, that doesn't mean that an individual office is complying with the change to the new reg. This is thialand of course and reg compliance is not a high value in their culture... CB
Topcatta
Okay, didnt know they wanted to get more money out of the 30 day border runners. But it is good to know I can do it in Chiangmay. That is handy for me.
Mekong
I was in Sri Racha Immigration last week and saw a couple of 30 day extensions being issued to tourists. I couldn't help overhearing, if a Thai does not understand talk louder was the order of the day from the tourists.
