soiarrai
As if its not bad enough already, but needs be and all that... http://www.nationmultimedia.com/2007/01/15/national/national_30024151.php Two traffic lanes on the stretch of Sukhumvit Road between On Nut Skytrain station and Bang Na were closed for 10 months effective 10pm yesterday. The closure is necessary for the construction of a Sky-train extension route from On Nut to Soi Bearing (Sukhumvit Soi 107). "It will affect an inbound lane and an outbound lane, leaving only two traffic lanes for each direction," Bangkok Governor Apirak Kosayodhin said yesterday. He called on motorists to avoid the area as traffic jams could be expected. He also handed out pamphlets detailing the affected spots and alternative routes. The chief of the Traffic Police Division, Pol Maj-General Pramote Pathumwong, said he would let the district and central traffic police assist motorists in the traffic jams. He also asked motorists who could avoid the area to use other routes or the expressways. Phra Khanong Police Station's traffic inspector, Major Thammarat Kitirattakorn, said he could foresee a traffic nightmare on the stretch of road today. Old Hippie
Ultimately, I think the BTS is suposed to run out to Bang Pli, which will be convienitnt, but also will result in more traffic crap...on a side but related rant, all the feeder ramps to the SFO-OAK Bridge have been closed at 23:00 hrs every fucking night for the last 2+ years, resulting in massive traffic chaos, as workers repair the bridge...repair it, while simultaniously building a new bridge right next to it...sometimes I think San Francisco hired Thais to run the traffic routes/planning...oye Gavolt! soiarrai
If it were anywhere else you might see it being on scheldule, however its either gonna be rushed, resulting in a sloppy job such as the new airport or it will take so long to complete that the traffic problem will worsen, because people are too lazy to seek alternatives. Old Hippie
yeah, maybe...that would explain shit...but you'd think the Thais doing the hiring would have come here seen the traffic and said "NFW" (no fucking way) we are hiring these assholes...but well...guess not. OCgringo
no one hiring a big company would be out at 11:30 at night going to Oakland ! They would be in their fancy hotel in Frisco running up the bar tab that the company is paying for OC OK someone needs to start a poll when these lanes will be back, Official is 10 months , I guess the odds are 1000000 to one it will be early , but how late will it be ?
