Julian2
Sheik Hilali back in Australia January 25, 2007 12:14am Article from: AAP CONTROVERSIAL cleric Sheik Taj al-Din al-Hilali has returned to Sydney from overseas in time for Australia Day celebrations tomorrow. Sheik Hilali sparked controversy again in recent weeks with comments on Egyptian television. He said Australians were liars and that Muslims were more entitled to live in Australia than Anglo-Saxons sent as convicts in chains. It follows the stir he caused last year when he compared immodestly dressed women to â??uncovered meatâ?Â. Politicians called for him to stay away from Australia if he didn't like it. But Sheik Hilali said he loves Australia. Macquarie Radio reports the Sheik arrived at Sydney airport overnight and was ushered out a side door of the building. bust
The Muslim community plan on running a candidate in the upcoming State election. al-Hilali is in the same seat as Morris Iemma.
Guest
Why are these people allowed in democratic societies? They don't believe in it, so why let them reside in such a country, which upholds equality, freedom of speech etc. I don't get it
Nervous_Dog
Labor is thinking about running a very goood muslim doctor, he is no radical, in fact gets on islmic radio and discussing female gyno problems, something most stations avoid, someone we'd all here have a beer with (though he drinks tea mostly) DOG

Julian2
Frankly I think... a)the police should watch him. (which they would be anyway) b)the press should ignore him. (which they're not going to.)

You've got as much chance of the press ignoring him as you have finding a pork chop in a synigouge.
