Hotels in Cambodia

For those who have visited Cambodia.

How about a quick note stating the name of the hotel you stayed at. The price. And if you were picked up at airport, train station, bus terminal, docks.

And maybe a short review of hotel mentioning amenities and lack thereof.

Thanks.

Been numerous times for my 90 day turn arounds.

Walkabout 10 US. Stayed there as friends were on a budget but wouldnt stay if you can afford a little more.

Run by aussies basic but clean enough.

24 hour bar down stairs with some nice and not so nice freelancers. Pool table and big screen Tv for sports and some nice food.

Regnts park. Thai owned and had minor attacks when the anti Thai riots happened.

1300 Bt. Nice rooms with satellite TV and the Cambodian copy of pizza hut downstairs called pizza hot.

Security guy locks the doors around 1 so if your a late drinker like myself you end up banging on the door to wake him up and get let in.

Hotel Cambodiana.

2400 Bt

Top range hotel with all the usual ammenities but getting a little old.

Swimming pool which is busy with locals on Sundays. Massage/brothel on premises next to swimming pool. Request river view.

Sunway Hotel.

Another top hotel at 2100 bt. Located at Wat Phnom opposite the new high tech Us embassy.

My regular place of stay. No swimming pool.

Intercontinental.

4000 bt

Never stayed but use the gym/swimming pool coz its got a clark Hatch fitness centre which I'm a member of. Too far out the way of the nightlife now Martinis discoteque has moved.

All rates are internet discounts except for Walkabout.

None of the above picked me up but the airport taxi is a fixed price of 7US.

The hotels charge between 5 and 7 oneway

Stayed in a shithole run by a Russian in Siem Reap above a grocery store. Every night had to kill multiple cockroaches in the bathroom.

Big Luck (formerly Hong Kong hotel) $23=25; airport pick up; centrally located. favorite of many guys who visit and revisit. Good TV, fridge, remote ac, newer pool (somebody on another board mentioned a casino added recently, but can't confirm). Would recommend.

Juliana...70-75 $. Nice place and "okay" location. Business class hotel. Have stayed there but not worth the extra 50 bucks over the Big Luck for my purposes.

Big Luck is the coolest hotel in PNH. You didn't mention the free breakfast, made to order, soups fried noodles, omelets, whatever.

The staff is all so nice, like in another world.

When I got gastroenteritis, not from the hotel food, I can assure you, the hotel manager drove me to a doctor, on the back of her motorcycle.

There is a casino, but I didn't go there. Good security and the rooftop pool is great for relazing.

There's about 60 tv stations from all over the world.

Very clean and new looking.
