khunsanuk
Hi, "Sorry guys, IMO they think about thai citizens being discrimnated or not" You mean poor farmers from Isaan with a dark complexion? I know you don't believe that they do not get discriminated against. Sanuk!
BkkShaggy
Hi, "Will it mean Farangs won't be getting a better service just because they are thought richer than ordinary Thais ?" Don't you mean: Will it mean Farangs won't be charged twice for the same service just because they are thought richer than ordinary Thais ? Do not think I have ever received better service due to being farang, but have most definitely been expected to pay double (or 10x the Thai price) due to being farang. Sanuk! So, you've been very unlucky so far then...poor Khun Sanuk - no sanuk in Thailand at all. I've seen both the accounts. But tried to point out what I've seen, maybe the other side of the coin. I've seen many waiters almost kiss ass the farangs coming in their restaurants and offer the best seats for them expecting more tips , perhaps? Or maybe the farangs are regulars ? I don't know. But being farangs is often times an advantage. Many Thai seems to say "Mai pen rai" to those farang easier because they are farangs.
khunsanuk
Hi, "But being farangs is often times an advantage." No argument there, but I do think it is more often a caused by people not wishing to deal with farangs for fear of having to speak English rather than them thinking we are better (we aren't). Sanuk!
