Flashermac
Where did they go??? GAO Estimates 30% of Arms Are Unaccounted For The Pentagon has lost track of about 190,000 AK-47 assault rifles and semi-automatic pistols given to Iraqi security forces in 2004 and 2005, according to a new government report, raising fears that some of those weapons have fallen into the hands of insurgents fighting U.S. forces in Iraq. chuckwoww
But wait, there's more... US admits delay to Iraqi weapons The US-led coalition in Iraq has failed to deliver nearly two-thirds of the equipment it promised to Iraq's army, the US Defence Department has said. The Pentagon said only 14.5m of the nearly 40m items of equipment ordered by the Iraqi army had been provided. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/6918536.stm This may be the real underlying strategy. Flood the region with weapons and watch what happens.

Flashermac
The US Army doesn't use AK-47s. Presumably, these were weapons Sodom's troops surrendered.

Julian2
It amazes me, I was never in the military but spent a few years working for the government and you had to fill out a form, with two signatures, for a packet of screws.
Flashermac
Presumably the forms were filled out - when the weapons were given to the Iraqi govmt. After that? Uh ...
