Palatkik
Just wondering on current status of prepaid GSM services in Thailand that offer international roaming services? Last time I checked my Happy DTAC service brought less than a smile to me and without a Thai credit card it was impossible. Recently I bought a Simpati prepaid in Jakarta for a pittance and no id checks and it works fine roaming in Thailand with no special activation. Any update on the Thai GSM services would be appreciated? Is AIS better than DTAC in this respect? I am only interested in prepaid and for foreigners as well. WorldFun
Yes AIS tends to have international roaming as standard service these days in my recent experiences. This goes for prepaid while postpaid probably still need the credit check due to the more extensive services for that case ;-)
elef
My 1-2-call is working in Sweden, but GFs DTAC is also working here - both prepaid.

ALHOLK
I just tested my 1 2 Call that I bought at the airport in July and it worked fine even though I only have 56 baht on it. Furthermore I didn't have to show my passport when I bought it.
Palatkik
Just tested Happy with loads of money loaded and nothing. My Malaysian Maxis with zero credit or reg works on roaming as does my Indonesian SimPATI. I guess Happy are way behind the field on this? At least they are cheap in LOS?! Orangutan
Anyone know if 1-2 Call will work in the San Francisco bay area? I'm leaving this Saturday and do not want to buy a prepaid phone/plan, for a 3 week stay. Don't have a clue? -O
