wonderlust
He was cheated out of a fair fight by the ref but who were the idiots who think it's a great idea to go to America and boo their national anthem in front of the American ref and judges? Steve
Interesting thing is most of the people around the office talking about the fight wouldn't have been upset if Hatton won. He had a 'Rocky' quality to him and its not like Mayweather is loved universally. Americans aren't too fond of braggarts. We like our sports heroes humble, Ali being one of the exceptions. I think you could have taken one of the drunk mancs from out the stands and made him referee and Mayweather was going to win that fight. It was a matter of when not if. Plus the fight may as well have been fought in Manchester if the crowd wa anything to go by. It was Hatton that had the fans to support him, not Mayweather. A lucky punch can come in any boxing match but it was a huge step up in class by Hatton. Also, interestingly enough is that the booing of the national anthem was not a major talking point in the sports press. The Brits get a pass in the U.S. If he was fighting an Iranian or Saudi it would have been an issue. Plus, most americans are aware that we aren't too popular around the globe right now. Still, it doesn't make it right and it is disrepsectful.
