Hours later, he apparently jumped to his death from the eighth floor of a hotel. Police have a suicide note, but it has not been made public, and friends and colleagues of 60-year-old Harry C. Payne are shocked and baffled as to what led a brilliant and ordinarily upbeat man to take his own life. "It is as close to totally inexplicable as anything I've ever dealt with," said Ben Johnson, chairman of the board at 2,850-student Woodward Academy... I wonder if she'll ever be able to be really happy in that house alone, or will she always be haunted by his memory? (All jokes aside, RIP...)
