saucier01
looking for a basic program that i can do some vidoe editing with. will be using video from my digi cam. i use a pc. not looking for anything extensive or expensive. i just want to do the basics like some fades, stiching, captions, etc. i do not like the windows program or hp muvee maker that came with my computer. cheers, saucier
coops
Take a gander around Fortune town and take your pick.... I've installed and used Pinnacle Studio 11 ultimate on my home desktop PC - and produced a neat vid of my golf swing with two views in one, ie 'picture in picture', and barely had to use the help menu. Seems good. BUT - all of these are not necessarily basic (but as easy it seems to use as windows movie maker for the basics). Also they'll be a prety big install - close to or more than a 1Gb of hard disk. I'm keeping it installed at home, but not for use on my laptop.... I'd avoid anything by Adobe, but that's my bias - if they can't even produce a PDF reader that isn't intrusive and slow to start up etc etc... coops

DocThai
Pinnacle might be a bit overkill for what you want to do. For ease of use, try Video Edit Magic http://www.deskshare.com/vem.aspx or if all you want to do is cropping, try Video Crop Pro http://www.gold-software.com/VidCropPRO-review63338.htm
