G man
My long-term TGF wants to buy a new car using her own money. I am here on a retirement visa and own a condo. For reasons of convenience she has suggested that the car be owned and registered in my name. I can see the potential problems for HER in this arrangement, but what is the potential downside for me? Any advice?
..
Seems OK by me. Just be sure that she is covered by the auto insurance (usually NOT an issue). Cheers, SD
torrenova
If fully paid up then I see no downside, if on tick then unlikely it could be in your name anyway. Why she would want to do it I cannot fathom out unless the money has come from somewhere she would rather not own up to.
Torneyboy
That is what worries me ...why?
Julian2
Beats me, you have to run around getting stuff like residency certificates which would be simple if you own a condo. Perhaps she's feeling a little insecure and wants to show you how much she loves and trusts you.
