Cambodia eVisa-Very Good!

I agree' date=' it's very good but only if you're making a crossing at Koh Kong or Poipet. At the airport or other border crossings you can get the visa for $20.[/quote']

Last time I went there there was an hours wait for a visa on arrival at Siem Reap Airport. I suppose I wouldn't have begrudged the extra five bucks, particularly as I had a couple of guys waiting for me.

I had to wait about 15 minutes. I can't remember if the visa application queue is separate from the immigration queue. It definitely saves you money in Koh Kong though.

OK, did the visa run to Pol Pet, Cambodia.

1. No eVisa line there. had to que up for 15 ~ 30 minutes, was crowded with bacpackers even on a Tuesday!

2. No hassles with the money grubbing Cambo Immi people.

3. However, there was a small sign near the Thai Immi exit counter that mentioned they stopped giving out the "30 day visa on arrival until further investigation has been done".

When I completed winning my millions in the casino (55555555555555), I went to the Thai entrance Immi area, filled out the forms and was able to re-enter Thailand, however, there was a large sign that stated you needed to show an on-going/exit plane ticket showing you would be departing from Thailand in less ten 30 days.

I had the tee rak with me and we quacked-quacked a bit at the counter and I was allowed to enter. I did have a airline schedule showing my exit from Thailand in less then 30 days, but they didn't ask and I didn't offer.

Soooo, bottom line, I hear more and more of the border crossing are not freely giving the 30 day visa on arrival and Thailand is moving in the direction that anyone coming into Thailand must have a proper visa and looks that the 30 day visa on arrival may soon be gone...YMMV.

Update on the Cambodia eVisa...it is no longer on the internet. It appears the site is shut down. There are links to some blogs, if you do a google, where they talk that sometime the beginning of July the site was shut down, no reasons given.

As such, I went to the Cambodia Embassy here in Bangkok and got the visa, $25 USD, issued the visa in 20 minutes, on the spot!

Before, had to wait a day or so and then return to pickup the visa. Once again, they do take up the full page in your passport and the cost has increased from $20 USD to $25 USD.

The Embassy is located on the "other side" of Rama IX, where the street appears to do a name change. It took me 30 minutes of asking/driving around to find it as it is not really on Pracha Uthit. On the corner, large building. Hours 9 AM ~ 11 (?), 1 PM to 5 PM.

I drove over on Soi 71 and was looking for Pracha Uthit, which I never saw a sign for. Asked a few motorsai taxi drivers and got pointed in the right direction (Soi 39).

From Soi 71 turn left, go straight until you get to Rama IX (xPressway?) then I turned left until I could make a u-Turn and then back to Soi 39, turn left and down about two blocks on the right was the Embassy. Motorsai parking just down a bit on the sidewalk with the other ten motorsai there, no problem.

It's the same price at the PP airport and I've never waited over 20 minutes.

I it takes a full page and you have to pay taxis/bus/BTS to get the visa not worth it - electronic was a great idea.

Did you notice if they had multiple entries? I have to go there a lot now a project has started - I'll need a new passport at the rate the 1 page visa's are filling it up!
