teddy
Drogon, the villa is in Dubai where I live, not in Pakistan. I would never work in Pakistan again, I once worked in Islamabad and I could put up with many things including stampeding cattle charging my car and nutters trying to kill me whilst they swerved their cars away from a pig in the middle of the road that no one would move because they didn't want to touch it. The one thing that sent me over the edge though was drinking Murray Beer, I can still taste that foul stuff in my mouth even now after 20 years. Fidel
Didn't know you worked in Islamabad. Still plenty of wild pigs causing accidents here. Murree now produces a "classic" larger which is far more palatable than to regular. Though these days, beggars can't be choosers. I drink mostly Murree. teddy
I worked on the extension to the British Embassy. There was quite a lot I actually enjoyed about Pakistan, I had a few trips up towards Peshawar, fascinating landscape. I also enjoyed just walking around Islamabad and Rawalpindi, although back in 1988 (I think?) when I was there it was probably a lot less risky for Europeans to wander the streets.
