samak Posted July 24, 2008 Report Share Posted July 24, 2008 Lampang has an elephant conservation center I want to see/stay at. about 30+ minutes from Sukhothai is another park I highly recomend...er I forget the name...Si Ratchanali or something? I think it is in Khampaeng Phet. Footprint guide book has it along with SUkhothai historical park. the Lampang elephant conservation center was already mentioned. Si Satchanalai is indeed another historical park with temple ruines, but much smaller than Sukothai; and no it is NOT in Kamphaeng Phet, it is in opposite direction from Sukothai on the way to Utaradit. one idea is to go one one way from Nakhon Sawan to Phichit, Pitsanulok (if you have not been there) and then Sukhothai and on the way back through Tak Kamphaeng Phet (instead of going two times through Kamphaeng Phet; another nice route would be through Petchabun (highway from Bangkok until Petchabun) and then over Khao Kho (pretty good road) to Pitsanulok (to avoid to drive the boring Bangkok-Nakhon Sawan route twice) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
