CTO
Went down to Kao San road yesterday. Node - one of my niece's gay friends from the village showed up so that was the excuse I needed - show the young lad what young white guys look like. Off we go to Koa San and have a great tie wondering around having a few beers and pretending Node is my new boyfriend. Then I get a flyer for a place called "Gazebo" top floor around the corner from Koa San overlooking the new Gullivers place. What a find! It looked like sitting in a spa to quote niece - Hookers (smoking kind) where great - mush easier action than mine at home but oddly same apple/licorice tobacco flavour I like. Drink wasn't too over priced - 250 baht for a jug of beer that filled 4 large glasses. While we sat there they had 2 different bands - first one was soppy folky stuff, the next did very good Santana covers. Later it gets very hip hop but we didn't stay - next time. Sitting leaning against the balcony was real cool - nice breeze - I think they have food - if it rained you moved under the large covered area All in all a real great place to take people too. Poor man's Sirroco if you will!
Faustian
Glad you liked it (Gazebo), I didn't mainly due the crowd it attracts.
CTO
We must get there early as it wasn't crowded - no doubt if you stay long enough I guess it would be
Faustian
Indeed, after 1 am you tend to get all the english yobs and their excessive drunkenness and fighting quite regularly along Koah San Road...Gazebo is one of the few late night places to go I know of. It gets the entire dregs of humanity late on...not nice.
