elef
Pattaya Ghost 25-09-2008 Bar Crawl: Navy Returning, Secrets Hacked?, Beer News & Bar Openings Contrary to the one-day observations of a certain Bangkok-based commentator, Pattaya is having a very good low-season month. With just a few exceptions, bar owners say that September is proving to be a much better month than August. â??Both Heaven Above and Galaxy Suites are doing well,â? Heaven co-owner Eddie told me this week. â??Galaxy Suites has good bookings for September and October is filling up fast. I think we are through the worst part of the year.â? The Navy visit obviously helped enormously and, the good news for Pattaya is that the U.S. sailors and marines are on their way back. Navy Boom (Boom) Times USS Ronald ReaganHaving been absent from Thailand for 18 months after the 2006 coup, the U.S. Navy is making up for lost time. Hot on the heels of this montnâ??s port call by aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln, two more carrier groups are scheduled to make port in Laem Chabang in October and November. The U.S. embassy has confirmed that the USS Ronald Reagan will give its crew four days of â??unrestrictedâ? liberty here in early October. Then, in November, the USS George Washington will now possibly might call Pattaya. Knowing the Navyâ??s historic bad luck with timing port calls, odds would figure theyâ??ll end up here for the six days of the royal funeral (Nov. 14-19) in which Pattayaâ??s bars could be closed. Carriers never call a port alone. In 2006, the USS Kitty Hawk arrived with three escort ships. This month the Lincoln came in with a destroyer. No word on which ships will accompany the two carriers. But, even alone, the carriers represented a huge boost to the local economy. Both ships have a complement of up to 5,600 men and women. ..
Ya. Basically you can come and go as you please, unless on duty, which will rotate thru the time in port over 3-4 duty shifts. Cheers, SD
TroyinEwa/Perv
Anybody with more info on when these ships will be there? I am going to take a little trip but debating between Pattaya and somewhere else. I'd prefer not to be there when there are an extra few thousand guys though. The "boys" made no hassle. lots of look after guys, had a nice chat with them in club Bouche. q: What are you guys doing here: a: looking after our marines, make sure they do not get into trouble: my answer, well , your in Pattaya, in a gogo with naked girls licking eachothers pussy in a bathtub, is that not "trouble" for conservative americans. his answer: as long as they do not get involved, there's no trouble... my answer : for a marine , I guess he will be in real trouble if he would not like to get involved .. ( read be gay) grin on his face....
