Flashermac
I need to brighten my monitor. I remember a setting in Windoze where you could do it, but can't find it now. I've got the monitor itself set on as high as it will go. Where's the adjustment in XP?

carlton68
Hi, not all video drivers offer the option to adjust brightness via software. So if you can't find the option it's most likely not there. Please check in device manager what it says which video card you have (of graphics adapter, can't remember what it is in english). Drivers for ATI or Nvidia do have the option, regardless if it's for a video card or on-board video. I remember older SIS cards did have the option. I don't know if Via or Intel on-board video does have the option. Possibly not.
Flashermac
Thanks. Puzzling thing is that all I've changed is the Windows version. Same video card. I used to have the gamma correction option. Now it's not there.
carlton68
So which video card is it? You may get the manufacturers drivers for the card, instead of using the drivers that came with XP.
