At least 32 people, including Arab militants and a suspected Al Qaida commander, were killed in two missile strikes by US drones in Pakistan's North and South Waziristan tribal regions on Friday.

Officials told TV channels that at least 20 people were killed when a drone fired two missiles at the home of tribal leader Maulvi Amanullah at Mirali town in North Waziristan at 9 pm. Most of the dead were Arabs.

An Al Qaida commander of Iraqi origin was believed to among the dead, the officials said. A vehicle was also destroyed in the attack.

The second missile strike in South Waziristan occurred some 90 minutes after the first one. A drone targeted the home of a tribesman named Sher Zaman, killing 12 people, including six Arabs. Five others were injured.

The attacks came hours after Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani said that NATO forces in Afghanistan must stop violating Pakistan's airspace as it is counter-productive and negatively impacts the country's efforts in the war against terrorism.

Gilani made the remark during a meeting with Belgian Foreign Minister Karel De Guelt on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Istanbul. They discussed regional and global issues, particularly the problem of terrorism and extremism faced by Pakistan and Afghanistan.

In the past few months, US drones operating from Afghanistan have carried out dozens of strikes in Pakistan's restive tribal areas, described by Western nations as a safe haven for the Taliban and Al Qaida.

Pakistan has angrily protested against the attacks, calling them a violation of its sovereignty.

Pakistan is being very well paid to keep these people on the other side of the fence.

I find it difficult to sympathise with the breach of their "sovereignty" when the US and NATO is losing soldiers to fighters who think they can run back to Pakistan and thumb their nose.

I think Pakistan has its own problems

The question is: Could further strikes on the Pakistani territory reinforce the support for the Taliban or would it help the Pakistani government to remain "stable"?

Last thing I wish is to have a Taleban-Pakistan...

On the other hand, some Pakistani military and military intelligence have been pointed as helping the Talebans...

Really a tricky question nope?

The real question is why are they even in Afghanistan, yet alone Iraq? Oh, that's right, welcome to the War on Terror, best war ever devised by accountants, as it will never end. Lately we have seen incursions into Syria and Pakistan. Looks like War Inc. wants to expand operations. Never mind more body bags, profit is in the stratosphere.

One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter!

There are too many unanswered questions regarding this "War on Terror", like why can't the people in Iraq take control of THEIR own country? Why does the US "have" to be in Iraq? same for Afghanistan.

Time to get the troops back to the USA and take care of our own problems at home! Illegals in the country sucking up benefits...porous borders...unemployment...run away government!!!
