teddy
What's the most you have ever paid for a taxi ride. I have just paid 320 pounds sterling, about US$470. Someone please tell me they have paid more, just to make me feel better.

The_Munchmaster
.... Forgot the pound is totally fucked against the Euro. You spend half your day looking at the financial markets, yet you forgot that the "pound is totally fucked against the Euro"?! Fer fucks sake, even I knew that!! Why didn't you use the same transport as the normal people?
teddy
To make things worse, i looked in my box of foreign currency before I left and thought whoopee as I spied four 200 Euro notes. I tried to pay for the taxi with a couple of them and the irate driver yelled, "not euro, not euro". They were feckin Morrocan Dirhams, looked exactly like Euros to me, just different words. unit731
Barcelona Spain. I was visited a teacher friend. He took an approved year off and taught in an international school in Barcelona. I went to visit and be a tourist. I speak zero Spanish. He met me at airport. He then tells me to get the next cab and ask in English how much fare to such and such hotel. He says nothing upon entering taxi. The taxi driver states the fare. Then my friend starts screaming in Spanish to the taxi driver. The taxi fare to my hotel was cut in half.
