expat
A couple of questions: I'm hoping others have been through this. We are the sole support of my wife's mom who just turned 60, but she doesn't live with us. Can we claim her on our tax returns as a deduction? Second--if we can, wouldn't it be better for us to file jointly as my income bracket is higher than my wife's? I assume I can't claim him on my return if we file separately.
