He said there was no longer rule of law so the red-shirted people would attack the government. He claimed that he had been arrested by the military to the Naresuan base in Prachuap Khiri Khan but red-shirted supporters in the base secured his release and sent him to the rally site at the Government House again. cheekyboy Posted April 12, 2009 Report Share Posted April 12, 2009 Leader of Pattaya summit intruders arrested; Red Shirts threaten PM's home BANGKOK, April 12 (TNA) - Police have arrested a top member of anti-government United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD) who spearheaded the movement of protesters storming into the ASEAN Summit venue Saturday where government leaders of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and six dialogue partners on Saturday. Deputy Metropolitan Police Commissioner Pol. Maj-Gen. Suporn Phansua said police had arrested Arisman Pongreungrong, a former member of parliament, and that he is now being detained at the border police headquarters. After learning of Mr. Arismanâ??s detention, UDD leaders at Government House demanded that he be released within three hours of the protesters will march on the homes of Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva and Deputy Prime Minister Suthep Thaugsuban. Mr. Suthep is responsible for overseeing security in the country. Mr. Abhisit was forced on Saturday to cancel the three-day summit, opened Friday and due to end Sunday, after UDD protesters stormed into the hotel in the resort town of Pattaya where the meeting was held. Also, he imposed a state of emergency in Pattaya and the provincial seat of Chon Buri but it was lifted on Saturday night.
