Big Kev
In general, are mobile phones something to purchase while in Thailand? Better deal than, for instance, Dubai? If so, suggestions for where to shop in BKK and/or Pattaya? Thanks for any info or suggestions.

Barry
Not especially cheap but it's the best place if you want Thai as an input language. I'm seeing a lot of phones with dual sim at last too.
WorldFun
best place for phones? gotta be the original vendor shops in the major malls like siam paRAGON, centralworld etc where the sony ericsson, nokia, samsungs & LG/moto fights to impress you :hubba:
dddave
I'd say stay away from MBK. They are vague about prices, trying to get from you whatever they think they can and often sell refurbished goods as new. I've seen people pay more for a used model there than the same model new at J-Mart. There is a high changeover of shops there as well which makes it difficult to get service later on. Just finding a particular shop there is a chore. It's not that you can't get very good deals at MBK; you can, but you really need to know your shit about what you want, what it should cost and how to spot a copy or refurb.
