cavanami
Since they were highlighted on the USA TV program, 60 minutes, they zoomed up their prices and of course, are chasing the expat medical tourism. Do a Google on Bumrungrad and the internet has articles both pro and con about the hospital. YMMV.
Flashermac
They have double priced for ages. There used to be a Nanaplaza poster who regularly used Bamrungrad. Then one day they hit him for a much higher price. Turned out that since he's a Chinese-American, they'd mistaken him for a Chinese-Thai and were giving him the local price. When they found out he was a Yank, they socked it to him! He decided to go somewhere else after that.
Mentors
if someone needs a surgery, he should check Hospitals in East Europe. Fine results to very reasonable prices.
pasathai1
my only negative comment is when my daughter got her blood drawn for a test, they used "re-cycled" screw on needles. not the disposable syringe kit. was a while back, maybe things have changed, but still not so good IMHO
cavanami
This was Bumrungrad using recycled needles?
ThaiHome
I also find that hard to believe. Bumrungrad wouldn't pass on the chance to charge for anew one. TH
TroyinEwa/Perv
I'm sure they weren't passing charging the patient. They were making more by using it again and charging again. Only recycling the needle.
CTO
I'm sure they werem't doping it at all
cardinalblue
I think there is some bad information being passed around in this thread. I don't think any needles are being recycled especially in a westernized style hospital..I would guess local hospital/DHS policies wouldn't allow.. An injection needle and plastic syringe are disposed after one-time use..think flu shot or typical shot... Blood tests use a glass container (for the sample analysis) attached with a disposable needle.. CB
