Gadfly
To the extent I am able to make sense of it, I have been trying to follow events relating to 3G in Thailand. I know True was/is offering 3G service in Bangkok for, I think, "testing purposes". I believe their package couples 3G service with WiFi (but how much coverage?) I am wondering if (a) I should wait to see if the battle of 3G concession ends or ( take the plunge now. If so, should I go with True? AIS seems to be trying to something with TOT, and I have heard that DTAC know has 3G service extending from downtown all the way to Emporium. Opinions? WorldFun
TOT 3G/imobile/et all service providers are now the absolute 3G market leader in BKK & the only 'commmercial' one & the sole standard 3G/UMTS frequency too (2.1Ghz). BUT outside of BKK the coverage ends & one is either stuck with no service or a limited roaming service on AIS network (voice calls only/no data not sure about sms!). Yes then True Move would be the next choice as a country wide coverage & 3G in large parts of BKK, Hua Hin etc
