spirit_of_town_hall
Whats the boiler room scene like now? Trawling through the Bkk post a NewZealand boss was shot dead last month coming out of his luxurious Sukumwit home soi 24 I think. Are those guys still at it, if they are are they advertising again? Bembaman
They were never all closed down so yes they are still around. When that lot got busted last year I met a few in Phnom Phen whilst on a business trip and they were waiting for the all clear to get back-read as 'until the right people were paid'. gummigut
Not really keen on having discussions of "boiler rooms" in operation here as they are basically con artists here in Thailand. <<burp>>
Sukhumvit
gummigut we know they're a scam so why object to discussing it man? Let's warn people not to get sucked in.
Guest
My brother-in-law who is a private banker for a bank in Singapore said a Forex outfit left in the middle of the night last week leaving many investors in Phuket high and dry. Most of their client were ex-pats. I did not see anything in the paper but he said the scam companywas based in Phuket.
gummigut
Warning people is fine by me. Discussing whether the "coast is clear" for them to operate, whether they are advertising now, etc... is what I would edit out and not tolerate thanks, clarification was needed. <<burp>>

What kind of moral lesson are you trying to give? Why would you not 'tolerate' this information. ultras67
Gummigut Surely by letting people know that they are advertising and even quoting the advert it will be a better warning than "just watch out the boiler rooms are back ! " ? I dont think given the context people here will put it in, would be classed as promoting them. Just a thought.
