unit731
Any airlines provide a non-stop direct route from North America to BKK?
TheCorinthian
Uhhhh Yea..! Thai Air for one.
rchapstick
Only TG, and only the non-stop out of LAX. They tried to get rid of that one but were unable to sell all their A340-500's. OK flight, except you have to fly out of that shit-hole that is the TBIT Terminal at LAX.
cavanami
Used to have a non-stop on United and/or Thai Air out of Seattle and New York...but may have been discontinued
rchapstick
United never had a non-stop. Thai had one out of JFK, but it got discontinued. Seem to recall they sold 2 out of the 5 A345's used on the route. TG keeps threatening to convert the non-stop to a one-stop thru Japan, and selling of the remaining A345's. Sadly, there have been no takers for these flying gas cans, so TG keeps flying the LAX-BKK route.
sanddawg1
Yea those A340s are nasty they need to upgrade to 777s or 787s they could never fill a A380 on that route. S1
USVirgin
SQ's A340 load factors on the LAX-SIN route have been hovering around 100% in recent months, all biz class.

rchapstick
SQ's A340 load factors on the LAX-SIN route have been hovering around 100% in recent months, all biz class. Singapore is a more-established business destination. BKK is just for us mongers and cheap-ass backpackers.
USVirgin
True, but those flights were going out nearly empty last year, so I hope that's a good sign.
