LizardKing
Cute, but shows exactly what's wrong with the electorate. Clueless, happy to be that way, and refuse to believe the numbers and the truth.
Flashermac
They believe the numbers in their bank account and the truth that they aren't any better off than two years ago. All they care about is somebody to fix that ... anybody. They gave Obama a try because they were sick of GWB. Now they want to try somebody else. passingthru69
There was a story written several years ago where a man in a wheelchair made a living suing people. He would go to places and measure the rails and openings. Even 1 inch to high and he would sue. This man did this allmost full time. He had no job, just this and made big bucks. The reason was that any person can sue the bussiness owners and make money. Years ago I worked for a man who got polio when he was a child. He was in a wheelchair. I asked him why no handicapped plate on your car? His reply was who the f##k is handicapped? I asked about getting into places with narrow doors. His reply was "well they don't want my money"
Flashermac
Reminds me of a high school friend who had had polio when he was 6 or 8. Didn't seem to have damaged him in the least, but he later used it to get himself a 4-F classifications to keep him out of the Army. He said when he went down for his induction physical, he acted like a total basket case - and had his doctor's report to show he'd had polo. temfarang
20 years ago I remodeled a building from "office / shop" to a restaurant. it had more than sufficient # of toilets for the sq' / occupancy. even had a back door that met fire code. sufficient off street parking wired for industrial use. 3 phase what it did not have was wheel chair accessible anything. Plumbing was a nightmare. door width is not an easy fix .. = wall demolition wheel chair toilets are further from the wall than regular toilets .. = jackhammer the floor & redo all the plumbing in 2 existing code bathrooms (only needed plastic on walls) to move 2 toilets over about 6". (grab bar) not sure a wheelchair ever rolled through the door. owners should be able to choose the clients they want to serve. I can remember 1 particular poster on nana plaza that ranted 'for ever' about GGs choosing who they do let in & who they don't
Bangkoktraveler
If you had went from restaurant to restaurant, there wuld not have been any problems because of the Grand Father clauses. Odd, it was old man Bush who signed the ADA into law in 1990.
cavanami
Yeah, those damned GOP'ers always do that ... especially in those big cities with Democratic mayors and councils, who are invariably impeccably honest. Like Chicago...where a few years back the porches on people's homes few apart, people injured, faulty inspections!
Flashermac
I mentioned once losing my office since the Army had to build a handicapped latrine in the building. It was one that had to be wheelchair accessible! WE DIDN'T HAVE ANY GIs IN WHEELCHAIRS!
