Two dozen wealthy members of the group Patriotic Millionaires for Fiscal Strength are targeting members of the deficit "supercommittee" to increase their taxes.

 

Didn't know u could be so fucking stupid and become a millionaire. Don't these idiots know that they can just sign checks to the Treasury as "donations" to the general fund for libtard fiascos...maybe to give Solyndra another chance? For what it's worth, heard on one of the TV "news" shows, that If every person making $250,000 sent ALL of their income for the year to the Treasury, it would be enough to keep the U.S. government afloat for 16 days. It is NOT stingy rich folks who are fucking up the economy; it's the libtards led by the libtard-in-chief that are doing it. Borrow, spend; borrow, spend. Cut programs? OMG. The world will come to an end. Friggin' idiots. (I know, redundant).

I think both (cuts and spending) are necessary. Targeted cuts are needed. I don't agree with the slash and burn, scorned earth conservative view of cutting government spending. There are programs that not only don't need to be cut but increased. Waste and redundency in any area needs to be cut.

 

The private sector is simply not hiring. Its not because of high taxes and oppressive reguations either (although certain industries and niches can stand some changes). No, companies are pocketing the profits and not expanding due to a pessimistic view of the future the economy.

 

Massive government spending on infrastructure would create American jobs in American companies and provide millions of blue collar and middle class jobs. Boths bricks and mortar jobs like bridges, tunnelss, high speed train lines and roads as well as higher tech jobs like high speed internt access for the rest of the country, green jobs as well. Incentives to convert our economy from an oil based one to hybrid cars.

 

Encourage keeping dollars in America instead of spending it on overseas traveling by lowering and in some cases eliminating fees for use of national parks and places like the smithsonian, etc. Encourage the states to do it as well and promote the hell out of it such as the widely successful 'I love New York' ad campaign of the '70s and '80s. Make these places 'family friendly' by having a 'family package' pricing as well as for school trips with 'school trip package' pricing. Provide tax incentives for private tourist destinations such as disneyland, etc. for family and school trip pricing reductions. Reduce tourist visa fees and promote American tourist destinations to Europe and Asia. Form a true government/private sector parnership for tourism with cross-promotional packages that would see a one fee package for hotel and sites to various cities and tourist attractions. Promote it on overseas tv. Statue of Liberty, Disneyland/World, national parks, Hawaii. Airlines, hotels can get promoted at our embassies as well as online if they participate in this tourism packaging push in a one stop tourism package.

 

Combine all this with a massive reduction in overseas miitary bases and troops.

 

These expenditures in tax breaks, reductions, domestic spending will cost but the combination of spending cuts and the revenue that the new jobs will provide should, over time, see higher consumer spending and encourage companies to spend more on hiring because they have a rosier outlook on the future.

Michelle becomes cheerleader. She does the position of Firs Lady proud. She's intelligent, commands respect and a great role model. Laura Bush came off as a very sweet lady herself.

 

There is a line with wives on the campaign trail. Its a fine one. They are off limits IF they don't cross a certain line.

Ron Paul with Sean Hannity discussing the economy and the election. Paul talks about the lack of attention he receives, if he is not ignored altogether. Paul says he and his staff were "annoyed" by the fact that he only received 89 seconds to speak at the last Republican debate.

 

Paul warned his Republican colleagues in the Congress that they better keep their pledge to not raise taxes. He says if they do "capitulate" on taxes then people will make them pay.

 

"I have no intention of doing that," Paul says of a third-party run if he doesn't get the Republican nomination. However, when asked several times by Hannity to rule out an independent bid, he would not.

ANAMOSA, Iowa (AP) -- Texas Rep. Ron Paul is emerging as a significant factor in the Republican presidential race, especially in Iowa.

 

He's been long dismissed by the GOP establishment, but the libertarian-leaning candidate is now turning heads beyond his hard-core followers - and rising in some polls - just weeks before the state holds the leadoff presidential caucuses and four years since his failed 2008 bid.

 

Paul's sharp criticism of government spending and U.S. monetary policy hasn't changed since then.

 

And while his isolationist brand of foreign policy may be a non-starter for some establishment Republicans, its appeal among independents is helping Paul gain ground in a crowded Republican field. His boost is an indication of just how volatile the Republican presidential race is in this state and across the country.
