I am a celebrity in Indonesia, what do I do? An Indonesian pop star whose home-made sex tapes were shown on the internet was jailed for three years today. Fans of Nazril "Ariel" Irham broke down in tears, saying the singer recorded the videos in his home with no plans to make them public. But hundreds of Islamic hard-liners surrounded the court in Bandung and tried to smash down the gates, saying he had been let off too lightly. The 29-year-old singer was found guilty of breaking an anti-pornography law, which was passed in 2008 despite strong opposition from the public and members of government. Ariel insisted the tapes were stolen from his house and posted online without his knowledge, but the judge said he did nothing to prevent their distribution. "The defendant should be aware that fans might imitate his behaviour," he said. "He made a porn movie that's harmful for our children," Kurnia Maryati, a 33-year-old mother of three, said outside court. The video showed Ariel in bed with his girlfriend, Luna Maya, a model and actress, who wept when the ruling was read out.
